Daves Avenue prides itself on offering a quality standards-based academic program.
Reading – teachers place an emphasis on providing an enriched, balanced reading program that is aligned with State standards.
Writing - students work on becoming experienced writers by learning to write in many different genres such as: narrative, descriptive, summative, letter, expository, and persuasive, as well as work on the structure and mechanics of writing.
Math - students expand their mathematical knowledge through a balance of basic skills, procedures, and problem solving.
Science –students explore concepts through a hands-on, inquiry-based approached to learning.
History-Social Studies – students learn about the past and present through projects and research. In addition, grade level field trips provide real life learning experiences in both the sciences and history-social studies fields.
